I may look into the star specs when I burn up my R-Comps.

If I were you, I would consider running a square set up such as 235.40.17 on all four corners. This will benefit you in several ways as having wider rear tires will promote understeer (more rear grip). While with a square set-up, you can swap wheels front-to-back and better monitor the wear. also, 245 tires on 8" rim might be pushing the enveloppe.

I highly recommend 235 all the way around as well. Honestly more tire does not mean faster in every case. And this is one of them. It's been proven time and time again that the e30 benefits from a square setup. If you had 400whp and no way to get it to the ground, we'd be having a different conversation.

If you care about results, then keep it square. 235 is a lot of rubber, and you will be extremely pleased with the performance results, you can rotate tires as Lee mentioned, AND you won't have a hard time making it fit.

          Lee and paintpro,

Thanks for the advice. My car is not going to be a a road race car, it is going to be a daily driver. I am trying to ensure I can get the most traction and least amount of wheel spin. Yes, the 245 on the 8" is pushing it but... if I do not find a buyer for the extra set of wheels I bought, i will be getting them widened. I completely understand and here what you guys are saying but my goal is 0-60 traction 90% of the time and road course 10%. I was planning on actually doing a bit of fender work to make them fit as well mainly becuase my car needs paint anyways.

I guess i could just go with 235.40.17's all the way around then try a different tire if need be.

          Thoughts?

I'm going to be running star specs. I decided on tires before I even had the car. I had them on my last car and I absolutely loved them, so they're going to be used until someone comes out with a better and cheaper tire. 235/40 prolly

Well, personally I dunno. I had them on an STi... So traction wasn't usually an issue. I would spin all 4 sometimes when they were cold and I launched on a road with some gravel or somethin. There was a 97 m3 that was running them autox, he didn't seem to have an issue with em. I'd say read reviews on tirerack? I was very pleased with them and can't wait to get the new ones ordered.

Sorry for the late update. I've been running around all day. I received a call from our broker/shipper. The ship is a day late, and that overlaps with the arrival of some other ship. So they will be unloading Thursday, and delivering the container to me on friday. I should be getting it early in the morning or at least around noon. So wheels will still go out this week.

                              Sorry for the delay

Our site is almost complete, so in the future it will be significantly easier to manage groupbuys!

Thanks to everyone for being so patient with this shipment.
