(This took place on E30Tech):
Normally, I would have forgiven a transaction like this, because lord knows, there's been times that it's taken me FAR longer than it should have to get something out to a buyer/seller. I really had not that much of an issue with things taking a little longer than expected. But after the PM I just got from my buyer, TimNJ, this needs to be brought to attention.
Tim agreed to buy my black painted diving board bumpers from me on 08/14/06. He told me he would pay with Paypal, but since my account is in the red due to an overcharge, I didn't want to lose $50 in the transfer. So he told me that he would have to take his mom's credit card to get a money order. No big deal. Almost a week later, I get a PM from him saying that the post office would only take cash and not a credit card for the money order, and that he would have to go back the next day with cash. Another near week goes by with almost no contact, and then finaly an AIM convo saying that he was going to send it the next day, and that he would have to send cash. I VERY reluctantly agreed, even after giving him a break on the price because he didn't have quite enough. He told me I would get a PM that day, saying that he sent it. No PM the next day.
So the day after, I get a PM saying that he sent the money. This was Wednesday of last week. Today is Saturday, and I still have no money. I know that a standard letter going cross-country only takes 3-5 business days (having worked in a post office for 2 years). So knowing that it could come Tuesday (Monday is labor day), I sent a PM simply stating that today was Saturday, and the money hadn't shown up yet, nothing more. This was the PM I got back today:
I promtly sent a PM back telling him that if he had send a money order like I told him to, that this would be a non-issue. But since that was too hard, his only course of action was to assume that I have stolen his money.
