i am currently the owner of a 1990 4 dr 325i with an m50 swap that Greg did...

it hasn't been running correctly for the past 2 weeks. i've been unable to drive it. it just doesn't idle right and it dies when i depress the clutch and try to put it in gear.

i tried to fix my car and what Chris is saying is true. some of the vacuum hoses are just beat...it looks like somebody took the hose and left it out in the summer sun for a few hours; a couple hoses are cracked and old. idk....this is my first e30 and i haven't been a happy camper lately. i just want the damn thing to drive.

Chris actually tries to help me out. Greg doesn't. All I got from him was "just check all the hoses for a leak"

I think you could successfully sue Greg.

He bought Killacortes car. That's a separate deal besides the fact that I think Greg chintzed out on the swap by the condition and suspect hoses Dan (nwe30) showed me and the hoses I found on my own car.

Also, the brakes Greg hooked up where not bled correctly if at all. He claimed the booster was bad and to show case his lack of knowledge despite his "know it all" attitude, the booster is fine.

I gotta put my .02 cents in!

Killacortes car never ran good and always had problems! I know this because he always brought his car and e30 problems to me and my brothers shop. First was the serpentine belt, then the fuel problem, then the center support bearing, then the coil problem and still a horrible idle.. After a while i gotta admit pierre it was kinda ridiculous how much that car was limping around after the swap.. I just couldnt keep that info in, pierre is a friend but his car was far from a clean/good running swap! I know ive had a S52 e30..

Greg's work seems to be far from top dollar, and that's what he's charging.

Then why don't you just replace the hoses when it seems that is the problem.
Seller already released any liability on the car after deed of sale has been turn over to the new owner. It is not his problem anymore.

Not affiliated to "Greg." no point in staining his credibility because IT IS YOUR CAR now. He's not responsible for it.

Still Greg's work retard, that was the point. Chris is the one going after Greg, The other kid was just showing another example of Greg's work.

God Damn you are fucking annoying.

The point is, despite Greg's general macho attitude, he's really kind of a hack mechanic. I would say he has FANTASTIC potential but again, that attitude and his stubborn pride limit him just admitting he might have fucked up, he might have gotten greedy and he just might, very possibly, have been wrong. Fact of the matter is, Greg's work is showing itself for what it is. Half assed attempts at being a "pro" or "proficient" at general mechanical.

All I want from Greg at this point is $1,000 and we'll go our separate ways. He wants to man up and do that there's some credit due. Until then, I'm looking into legal action as he's unresponsive and frankly trying to just intimidate his way into getting money FROM ME? Yeah.

On a side note, we'll get your ride figured out. Purchase every vacuum hose an M50NV has and start from there. Oh, and if you can get it to Parker's shop in Gig Harbor, I will make more than just "effort" to get it sorted this weekend.
