    s52 swapped in but no coolant flow.. help please

    For reference I had the m52 in the car(e30) and coolant flowed fine with the same setup. I now have the s52 in its place.

    I have the e36 radiator with the built in overflow that feeds the motor through the botom to the back of the timing cover. The pump is one of the stewart pumps(I took it out of the m52 and moved over to this swap). it seems buttery smooth when out and spins free. Nothing leaked.

    Now to my issue. I am getting no coolant coming out of the top hose at all. This leads me to believe for some reason the pump isnt circulating coolant as even cold I should have flow. With the water pump out I blew into the upper coolant hose and the hose that would feed the back of timing port like a trumpet and get zero restricions. I also tested 2 thermostats but with no coolant making it to the upper hose that shouldnt matter yet.

    Is there something I am missing? I am stumped at this point. I may try another cheapo waterpump just for my sanity.

              that is because the thermostat did not open, there can't be any flow into the top radiator hose if the thermostat is still closed. LOL

                  I ran it hot enough to open. Coolant was not circulating... but dont worry I figured it out.

                      no you didn't run it hot enough, if there is air in the system it will never open. It was that, that is why you are too ashamed to post what it was

                          Internet tough guy... it ended being a bad pump not circulating coolant. Never seen the metal pumps stop working but thats what it was. Got a cheap plastic one to test and all good.

                          take your condescending attitude somewhere else

                              Can't be. The propeller is metal and it can't fail, the plastic one is the one that falls off. And you said that you transferred used water pump from the engine that was all good. why not just admit you did something wrong
