Putting an M52 into an 87 325is and I cut and rewelded the shift selector rod exactly 10* off from its original position and now I now cannot get into 5th nor reverse.
The thing I think may be playing part is the AZON short shifter (pictured below) that I am using... and TBH I really don't care for it that much more than OE... and I wanted to find out whether anyone else had the same experience with this shifter installed.
In addition (and I am not sure it should be this way) the carrier where it through bolts to the B*tch clip does have some wobble left to right... should that be or should it be tight? maybe that's the true culprit or a combined issue...

If anyone knows whether the 10* twist functions even with an azon short shifter shown below... please let me know...
and
if anyone knows where there should hardly be any left right twist play in the carrier at the tranny mount where the b*tch clip goes through... please also let me know.
