Thanks man, good luck to you too. Kinda cool we're so close with this...hope it works our perfect for both of us.

Forgot to mention, reason for re-doing booster is that there just isnt enough clearance between the manifold and the booster. moving it back should do the trick.

Also, my motor sits sooo close to the firewall. I'm going to have trouble putting the blower motor cover back on, that's how close it sits. Wish i could shim it forward a half inch... might try to see what I can do with that today too :???:

That sucks, the booster is a fucking bitch! Could you loosed the engine mount, jack up the engine and grind off the fins on the intake to prevent having to do the booster again?

already grinded a bunch off the mani. Moving the motor 1/2 inch forward would solve that issue too.

grease. heard that if they're not greased the brakes will stick cause excessive brake pad wear :dunno: just did it to be safe.

Hope the grease you used wont liquefy under hard braking...

so how much room will have between the rad and the motor as a result?

man moving the motor 1/2" is going to make working on the engine...impossible!

Hope not either. It's high temp multi purpose grease. (and cardinal to match my interior keke)

I'm telling you it was almost completely butted up against the firewall. I think I got it like a 1/3" or so. The motor mounts still werent buttoned down, but now they are upright and not looking like the motor needed to come forward a bit. I'm much more comfortable running the engine like it is now, before scared me a bit. Almost pinching that brake line that runs across the firewall. If I kept all my sound deadening there would be no room to do anything back there or work on my tranny on top. Don't know how any of you guys kept your SD.

ran into some speedbumps yesterday. No fpr was one, and i definately need to redo iX booster and remove spacer. The way it sits now, I can't access the second hole underneath my throttle body intake boot becauase the master cylinder sticks out so far forward. Since I'm staying obd2, I need to use the obd2 intake air temp sensor. I'm going to stick it in the boot and need that second hole. You obd1 guys can just re-use your sensor thats threaded into the mani.

So by removing the booster spacer, it should give me PLENTY of room for the manifold and give good enough room for my intake boot. Might as well do it the right way, as much as I wanted to avoid re-threading the rod :???:

Going to just try and make sure everything will be ready for first start tomorrow. Initial plan was to start it to see if it works, then redo some things that needed to be done. Now it will be prep it till it's ready, dont start it until it's she's ready to drive. Hopefully dealer has everything in stock, otherewise it'll be another couple days added to the wait...

Yes I did. Drove great! Trans/diff/clutch all feel good. A quick stab of the throttle in 1st at 3k sent the ass end moving.

But it's burning a bunch of oil so I'm hoping it's the PCV valve (if it's valve guides/rings I'm going to completely flip out) and I've got a coolant leak under the intake manifold and soft brakes.

I'm taking it to the shop tomorrow to have them fix the little issues that I've run out of time to do. We close on a house Friday and I need this thing done.

And thats what I really want. When this car is done, I am putting all my money away for a house. I need one. Congrats on that too man.

Gathering the last bits yet, don't plan on starting it until it's ready to roll, so it's going to be a few more days. In the meantime, here is what showed up today :)
