    Idle fix

How should I go about raising up the Idle on my m50? I dont have my chiltons infront of me so I cant look it up but its driving me nuts. My car idles at about 600rpm but with the a/c on it idles at 500 and its vibrates like a motherfucker. shouldnt Idle be at like 750-800 when its operating normally?

600 is normal idle. I had TRM raise mine to 900 because of my lightened flywheel, but you still shouldn't have it that low with the air. Do you have the A/C signal going to the ECU? That should raise it with A/C engaged.

Stock idle speed is 650rpm. The only way to raise it is with software.

Connecting your compressor signal will help, AC on idle speed is 770.

            ^^ +1

look on the ETMs. there is a wire (the one that engages your compressor) that you have to splice to your DME.

Just curious what happens if you fuck with the screw. It throws the tps out of wack?

Edit I want to be able to explain it to my dad that was his advice and I said I dont think I should.

Yes, it throws the TPS out, but more importantly, the ECU will be trying to pull the idle down to the RPM it wants it at, and if it can't it will be unhappy.
