HALP!!! Ebay long tube headers will not clear!!!

Mind you this is in my e30 m3 not a regular e30 but I thought they were basically the same mount wise.

OBDI S52 with E34 motor mounts in my E30 M3.

    I bought these:

They were the ones quite a few people recommended on this forum.

The shorter one closer to the firewall clears perfect but the front one hits the motor mount.

    Anyone have some advise?

Small small shim. Hadnt heard of using e34 mounts either. Hmm. I used the e28 mounts, and Supersprint headers, no issues.

I think those are a copy of the Supersprints right?

How exactly will that work? I cannot even get the header onto the flange bolts as it hits.

I think we are going to try and pry/lift the motor a little to see if we cannot get them on.

Yes they are replicas. I had to heat up my subframe and beat it with a BFH to make alittle room. I tryed to bend the pipes alittle but that wasnt going to move at all.

O and I think you are using the wrong mounts and thats why it isnt working.

My replica ones weren't clearing the arms either.

Thankfully I lucked into a set of TMS shorties with a custom downpipe.

do u have a picture of the ones I am supposed to be using? The PO said they are e34 mounts.

I might try the BFH too

Do you have them turned the right way? The longest bolt should be facing up.

In the ebay link I posted, look at the pics at the bottom.

The longer one has to go in front right?

Yes the longer header goes on the front and the shorter one goes on the rear. Which ever side is the longest that is the side that faces up right. The e28 mount needs to be turned upside down.

Yes, longer one in the front. They should both exit at almost the same spot.

You have e36 motor mount arms with e28 motor mounts. Can be confusing...

I didn't install mine with the motor mount in place. I do know that I was unable to tighten the motor mount nut with the headers installed though. No combination of wrenches/sockets/swivels/extensions would fit. I ended up double nutting it so I could reach the top nut with a wrench, turned it until I couldn't anymore, and said a prayer.
