I don't think I would go the s52/50 route because I would imagine they cost a lot more since they come out of M cars. So which model of M50 or M52 should I try to hunt down?

I think the M52 being a 2.8 liter non ///M engine would be the better bang for the buck. With the money saved you could then boost it and make way more power than the S50."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj
