An US market e34 M5 S38B36 missing on one cylinder will dyno @ 248 hp. They were 310hp @ the crank. Were u hiding laughing gas somewhere lol? You have a huge stock cams wheel number for the USA market considering it's not really a ///M engine especially under 6K RPM's and 256 whp.

If your dyno has an altimeter or weather station problem, then the correction factor is most likely the issue. I'd buy 256 crank and 500 more RPM's w/ your set up but wheel hp #'s don't seem quite right w/ your mods.

Go to a local dragstrip and give us weather / altitude and car weight w/ driver #'s. Your trap speed will calculate out to a very close real hp #.

torque numbers are way off, it makes 15% more torque to the wheels than a stock one does at the crank. 290-300lb-ft is never happening on a 3.2L NA

yeah thats probably ''crank horsepower'' or who-knows-what-corrected. this is an example of why personally i take dyno numbers with a grain of salt and try to just look at the lines.

it shouldnt matter much anyway, im sure its fast and fun like an s52 e30 should be.

These definitely aren't corrected numbers. No way in hell you put even close to that power down, sorry buddy.

It wasn't a dig at you at all. You brought up a good point. This motor converted to OBD-1 should make it's peak power north of 6k, in the neighborhood of 6.4k with stock cams.

Yeah, my OBD-I S52 with 3.5" MAF, TRM chip, TMS equal length headers and mandrel bent 2.5" exhaust put down 233whp.

              Torque curve looks good though.

the correction factor wouldn't account for the discrepancy

Yea, I'd take it to another dyno. HP should be peaking 6400-6600, and if those are WHP numbers they're too high for going through stock US cats.

I would definitely like to see a different dyno and see it run all the way out.

Stu, I disagree about the limits of the stock cats. I can show you a dyno of a run making 410whp with a stock OBD2 midsection on a dynojet 248c. ;)

This is the email I received this morning.

                      "Hi Darien,

The numbers are wheel hp, and the dyno is a Dynocom. Your car put down some good numbers on a very conservative dyno.

                      Thanks,
                      Brent Loveless

                      615-891-9265"

I will admit, the number seem high to me. But I'm not familiar enough with this engine to know what and where the peak numbers should be.

I take the results with a large grain of salt.

In regards to the cams. I'm pretty sure they are stock. I bought the motor off ebay at a fairly good price, so I'm sure there isn't any thing special about my motor. Matt at TRM probably knows the motor a lot better than I do since they did the swap for me.

After doing some googling research, I do believe this dyno puts out higher numbers than average.

must be the TRM chip. Since I have that chip, now I can tell people I have 257 WHP too!

Dynocom dynos are known for consistantly showing higher numbers than normal.

just look at this 350z thread where one guy took his car to Dynocom dyno, mustang dyno and then a dynojet dyno.

VQ35HR - Dynocom vs Mustang Dyno vs Dynojet - All Dyno runs are with 93 octane pump gas. Humidity & Elevation are all similar. look how much higher the Dynocom registers over the others.

The weird part is the numbers he gave for the S54 m coupe are a little low.
