I bet you could get more scavenging by installing a little triangular point at the center of those asian headers. You should be able to source such a thing at coneeng.com.

I have a 140A MIG and at the time I tried to plug the header flanges, I was very inexperienced at welding. I'm a little better now, so I know with plenty of preheat that I could lay down a bead that'd be good enough to plug the channel, using stainless wire.

yeah, that's how RD headers were built. It's certainly better than the straight cut. or you could cut the collectors off, buy some nice merges and weld them on.. but the merges would probably cost 3x more than the headers :p

I have the obd2 headers. To make them fit better, I cut the front header about 3 inches from the flange and clocked it so it wouldn't point straight at the subframe.
