What's the *best* radiator for M50?

    Ok. I got pissed today.
The guy who did the swap put in a radiator that cools fine, I don't know what it's out of but the upper flange to the thermostat was shortened, so it doesn't have the bump edge and the upper hose slipped off (second time since buying the car). It has the external exp. tank.
This is my chance to also get a radiator with a built in expansion tank so I can do the E36 airbox swap.
What is the best option for good cooling and built in exp. tank?
I will be buying Nissen's because I can get it for a great price.
An OEM number would be great.

M42 radiator w/ built in expansion tank is what you need, either that or relocate your overflow to the rear of passenger front strut tower.

Define best. Max Cooling? Cheapest? Size?

There is no best, it's all what your needs are. If you want max cooling, maybe the Mishimoto would be good for you. For price and size, the m42 is hard to beat. Etc...

I've never had an overheating problem with my m50, the m42 rad, and a 12" electric fan. Even in 100 degree weather, sitting in bumper to bumper traffic for an hour.

            Best for me =
            internal exp. tank
cools the m50 no problem, I have viscous deleted, but a good 2 speed spal
no fabing, just replace the one that's there

            So, since I'm talking euro, M42 rad = early E36 318is?

I do like that look though.

I have a Mishimoto alu radiator with a spal 16inch fan I believe 2850cfm and running Evans NPG-R " Racing " coolant. AMAZING stuff !

The Solution to boilover and corrosion. Preventing Engine Overheating. Evans waterless coolants offer several benefits to save you money, time and engine wear.
