    S52 cams

Anyone using them on their M50? I would like some feedback on what you think of them over the stock cams.

I did use it, I found nothing with a before and after thought on the s52 cams. I know they will work.

I got the info from Rob at UUC anyways.

They are fantastic. But you will need to swap trays and lifters to use S52 cams in an M50. S50 cams are a direct swap.

And you'll need a new chip (I can help with that.) :)

I have s50 cams in my m50. The powerband above 4500 is better, and 6k-7kis very powerful in comparison to a stock m50. Make sure you know what you are doing and are capable of getting your timing right.

I'll be on the dyno within the next few days with a stock chip, an ebay chip, an AA cams chip, and a TRM cams chip. I'll be on a dynapak with an experienced tuner so I should get some good consistent results.

You must have figured out your Vanos issue?

I believe so. Check that thread, I posted my findings (embarrassingly). I'm going to the dyno to 1, prove vanos is working properly, and 2, choose which chip is best. I'm still not convinced my car is making peak top end power after vanos turns off, but I'm hoping that my AFR might tell me what's going on. It almost has to be timing at this point. I could have bought an s52 with the money I've invested in this damn m50. At least I learned a lot.

S50 and s52 cams are nearly identical, either will work in an m50 or m52. If you use s52 cams in an m52, you need to get the m/s52 cam trays and lifters for them to work, and vice versa. You should also get software from TRM, AA or TMS to take full advantage of the cams.

The M3 cams in the m50/2 are the best bang for you buck mod you can do. The powerband see a huge increase above 3500 rpms. I've heard that they will cause a loss of torque down low, but I couldn't notice the difference on the swap car we did it on.

Not quite. As Matt said above, you need m/s52 trays/lifters to use m/s52 cams in an m50b25tu. m/s50 cams work in both m/s50's and m/s52's.

So, s50 cams work in both m50's and m52's, no need to swap trays.

s52 cams work in m50's and m52's, but you need the later trays and lifters for the m50.

The s52 uses a bigger square core cam, that doesn't fit in the early style trays. The s50 cams are smaller round core, and clear any tray.

I love my s50 cams, 3.5" HFM, pink top injectors and TRM tune. It really opens up that m50 a lot. I was very happy
