    Yeah, I bought the midsection-back of a stock E36 M3 exhaust, and I'm having second thoughts about it. I know it fits and looks fine, but it's still huge and heavy.

              Have you considered a smaller exhaust diameter? 3 inches is overkill for M50 HP levels and will remove some torque from your low and mid RPM ranges.Or are planning on boost?

                      yea it will it killed the low end on my M52 then i went with 2.5 all the way back and helped A LOT!

                              I could be wrong on this, but I believe the M52 was engineered to run with a little back pressure. I know the M52TU was. Some of the newer BMW motors will drop in power output with high flow exhausts. Correct me if I am wrong.
