FYI - the stock booster does NOT clear no matter how much you want it to

Yes, we totally needed a thread for this... my friends and I were dropping the m50 in last night and we looked at the booster and thought it would clear with some persuasion. Nope. It all looked good until we started trying to get the trans to line up. We then tried to use a heat gun to melt the intake and deform it around the booster which didn't work. Propane didn't either. So now I'm going to slot the mounting holes and move it over. Don't be an idiot like me - fix the booster before dropping the motor into the car!

Wait a second, are you saying that a newer, more reliable engine fits in our e30? Please, share with me where you buy your drugs.

Every thread says it doesn't clear by a half inch. I thought for sure there was something I could do to make it fit since that isn't much. Whatever, the engine is in now.

But the bolt holes are drilled for the M8 or M10 studs - there's no moving it unless you slot holes or something. I got an E21 boost for like $30. Totally worth while.

Yeah, the firewall needs to be slotted. I had a 944 booster but heard the pedal feel is crap so I decided to make the factory booster work.

Wait a second. Wait. I said fucking WAIT.

                        Just hold the motherfucking telephone.

You're saying that there's a newer car, nay, a newer BMW than our E30?

And I'm pretty sure I've only seen one person on this forum say the 944 booster is crap. All it does is make the pedal A LITTLE BIT stiffer. I've read countless swap threads on this and other forums (yep, other forums, no fucking way, right?) with people that used the 944 booster, and they all spoke highly of it.

Probably could have slotted and begun the move in the time it took to post this thread or sourced a better fitting booster and already had paypal sent. Good luck with the swap none the less.

I heard one guy kept the stock booster without slotting the firewall.
