You sure the wiring harness/adapter is solid?

That's what I'd be looking at. Something isn't talking with something else.

make sure your plugs are plugged into their corresponding sensors.

I think the cam positioning sensor plug is the same with the knock sensors. Make sure they are with their right plugs.

I'm not even sure an m50nv has knock sensors actually.

matt, how long was the car that you pulled the dme from sitting not running?

            i pulled this from BF.c

On E36 cars, especially '95 and earlier, the cowl drain tube behind the cylinder head tends to clog with leaves and similar debris. When that happens, a heavy inflow of water such as a car wash will flood the ebox and soak the DME control unit. If that happened then the injector circuits could have been shorted to ground, causing them to remain open.

Check the DME unit for water damage. It's in the ebox, which is behind the cover on the right side of the bulkhead. It's the bottom module. If it's wet you may be able to dry it out, otherwise it will need to be replaced. Make sure to dry the connector also.

also is the dme from the same car that the motor is from?

My bet its the dme. I had a similar problem but mine got stuck closed. It all came out of a running car as well. once I opened my dme it was obvious there board was scorched.

Its either wiring, or a sensor 99% of the time if you are getting fuel and spark.

Even though some of your sensors are new, you still need to test them. I have had two bad sensors from brand new.

Have you tried a different DME? If your plugs are wet it is flooding, I had the exact same problem on my m20 and it was the DME. Not many things will cause a fuel injected engine to flood like that and one of them is burnt out injector drivers in the DME/ECU.

when i pull plugs out they fire good, and Im getting gas....

I got a DME from a buddys old swap car, and no change, so will grounding it to strut tower matter? I had it ground down on my motor to body ground just shoved under the nut.

And my DME was from a running car, when motor was pulled

What is the best source for an e34 wire harness colors etc? so i can check all the sensors
