I knew it was gonna be like this. You should have pined out the harness, dme, and sensors with a "map" before you did your first 24v, after a few, you know what goes where.

Yep, Andrew and I searched for almost an hour online until we found the exact pinout charts for my car, and the corresponding chart for the car my harness/engine came from. It has to be 100% right. Drastic changes are made in the pinouts from year to year.

Josh what chart did you use? Greg posted a mini chart in my thread? And I used that

The charts I used won't help you, mainly the one for my car, mine's an '86 325es and yours is a '91 318is.

You have to have the exact one for you car, and the exact one for your 24V engine/harness.

It can happen. We just ran into this same problem with Matts car. Even tho his harness looked to be fine. stuff was working like yours also.
Swapped in a new harness and all was well.

hmmm, i just for fun tested throttle sensor for ohms, on the 2kOHM on my multimeter.

and then tested crank sensor ( while unplugged , getting a different reading, seems very low, what shoud it be, about 550? )

                    OK, look at this logically.

1.) test sensors, write info on pinout chart you should have made
2.) test each individual wire from DME connector to sensor, write this down
                    3.) see what isn't right
                    4.) PROFIT!!!!!!

My cam sensor tested at 1250, and my crank sensor tested at 491.

I cant find a book, or manual online, telling me what they should be

Bentley, Bentley, Bentley, Bentley! Jebus you're a lost cause, you needed to do some more research I think before you started this whole M50 business.

the bently does not really cover ohm readings and such

Both of those are fine. Your problem is somewhere else maybe the dme or harness

Ok Matt, I know you're trying to figure this out, but don't edit your last post to say nothing, and then post the exact same thing an hour or so later just to bump the thread.
