Weird. The intake tubing before mine is a straight shot. I’ll post pictures tomorrow.

After some more research I think the issue is more about the huge bend I have in the intake tube right in front of the MAF. I put a straighter pipe in there and will also mess with the clocking of the MAF if I have to. Hopefully no more issues.

I had that same problem about 6 years ago. Clocking the MAF in different positions would cause a CEL and even a soft lowered rev limit! I had a brand new authentic Bosch MAF and a KAmotors intake. TRM ended up sending me a revised chip for my 413. Not sure what they changed with the tune.

I have been getting a CEL for the MAF coming on at around 4k rpms on WOT, car runs fine though. Anyone else have this problem?

The turkey neck on my intake manifold is Very likely causing a slight vac leak too. I guess until I deal with that and my dirty icv I can't be sure, just wondering if I'm the only one with this oroblem.

    Kthxbye
Old ass thread but I am having the same problem. 3.5" MAF with TRM tune and the CEL comes on near redline for the air mass sensor code with the MAF at 10 o'clock. TRM suggested changing the clocking of the MAF so I will try that next track day.

Just removed a lower corner of the airbox to clear the alternator and reglassed two pieces of ABS plastic back to re seal the box.

Here is mine. Still working on boxing the filter in to protect from water (even though the car never sees rain).

I know it is old thread, but does Castro box fits ABS equipped E30?

    Interesting...

That backwards air box is clever as hell!
