Adrian is right, just that amount they took off did lighten the flywheel by about 3-4 lbs, which is a lot. A lot of people will have a large portion of the mass from the center out toward the edge of where I had the flywheel milled out too, taking out another substantial chunk of weight, but the shop I took it to wasn't really able to do it with their setup, and I didn't want to go searching all over for a shop that could. That degree of lightening is really unnecessary, anyway.
To have that material removed as well as a resurfacing (make sure you do that), cost me about $85, which is a little high, but not outrageous.
Yeah i'm just going to take it back to where they resurfaced the other side.
it cost about 35 bucks for resurfacing, which isn't bad being that they do commercial trucks with big flywheels.
i wonder how much they will charge me for this.
