Opinions on how to cut down rasp?

Hrm. I'm still considering the Raceland LT 4 piece headers for the S50. Not to thread jack but would it make much of a difference over the stock S50 headers in the way of sound? Keep in mind I'll be running S50 manifolds to custom Y into 2.75" (I believe) single to a huge pass through Remus basically.

Mine sounds exactly like that.

Headers > Borla muffler > Vibrant mufflers

Chirp! That sound would be nice if it could be turned on and off but for a DD that would be annoying.

The chirping is awesome, Chirping 3rd is very possible. As for the sound, it was awesome first week, then it just got more and more annoying. As for the exhaust I now NEED to redo a decent amount of the exhaust because the asshole who did it, welded the 02 sensor into the bung then the bung into the y pipe, No wonder I needed a new 02! How stupid can you be? Seriously.

that has such a nice tone to it. i love it.

OP: i would suggest just adding like a 16inch resonator. that usually mellows out the rasp

I have Raceland headers into single 2.5" pipe, high flow catalytic converter, 12 inch resonator and vibrant exhaust. Definitely adding something within the next two weeks. Alpina wheels and raspy exhaust don't compliment each other well. haha

Are Borlas really worth the extra $$$? Up in the air between adding either a Borla or Magnaflow. Will probably keep the 12" vibrant resonator too because it doesn't sound as if its doing a whole lot anyway!

dynomax is a better value than borla. I hate magnaflow, they sound like ass.

from the borla i am familiar with on my brothers 97m3, they are not worth it. Bunch of extra $$ for a name.

I'd rather have my car sound good, then me sounding good telling people what exhaust i have.

....this is just my experience, people that like borla please dont hate.

Fixed this long ago, ended up going with an OBD1 midsection modified to fit an E30 Remus backbox.
