I'm in the exact same boat. I'm leaning towards turbo or s50b32 though. S54 is nice and easily the best choice but I don't have the patience for something like that. I can get an s50b32 here for pretty cheap as well. Why not.

Damn money pit. I'm loving the E36 right now, E30 can stay parked in the garage for all I care.

I was in the same boat, but S50B32 was too easy-- I had a plug-and-play S50B32 harness with DME from an '87 E30 and sold it for $400 to go towards the $3k+ for engine management on my S54. Even though I could have run the S54 on the S50B32 stuff.. Smooth move. Not sure what I was thinking back then.

So smooth. I've owned and sold so many rare parts in the last year alone. I had an e30 m3 but not as a whole car. Suspension at one point, interior at one point fenders, bumpers, trunk lid, wheels, s14, exhaust, and so many other parts. I just buy them, swear that I will use them, then sell them when someone offers three times what I initially paid for them. I've had mtech2 kits, rs003's, many s50/s52/s54 motors, and just so many other desirable parts.

I like the idea of a NA motor but I still don't have hands on experience with a turbo setup but I have been researching/taking notes for the last few months. It's all in the air at this point. All I know is, I'm either building this car balls out or just buying an e39 m5 or a nice older porsche and calling it a day.... for now.

I bought my car M50B25 Non vanos swapped in AUS and its been the best car i have owned (partially due to how well the previous owner did the conversion) and it makes me want to S5x swap my currently M20 stroker racecar...

i dont own or have never driven a 24v e30 but i think a m20 sounds much better up top, and yes i know m20's are slow but they can hang with nvm50'd e30's

I absolutely love my OBD2 S52 swap so far. Almost too much power for normal street driving! I rarely get a chance to really get in to it because it exceeds normal speed limits in no time. As my friend said when he first went for a ride, "we've gone to plaid!" Hehe

Next weekend will be the true test of how much I love the swap. Three days on VIR full course. I can't wait to surprise E36 and perhaps even E46 M3s in my stock looking four door E30.:giggle:

I finished my m50nv swap not a long time ago and I love it. In my opinion this is the engine that e30 should of came from the factory. It is absolutely worth it and better then m20 any day.
