My car didn't have an aux. fan and I'm also pretty sure it didn't even have the wiring for it. I'm going to see what I can do to get power to the fan and thermoswitch sometime. Right now I have the fan running constantly which I guess is ok for the summertime but in a few months the engine may be running constantly cold.

alright heres what I'm working with.
Have no idea what the PO did with the wiring up front but I see its quite hacked and I don't see the aux RED and BLACK hookup.
I found that in my bentley it says to jumper the white together for the term switch but it seems I have the black/green and black and brown wires as in a 325i harness (my car is an 86 325e)
quite a few disconnected connectors:
Drives side:
Passenger side bottom:
Passenger side top:
I don't have a/c. I have a spal fan I want to wire up with a termo switch and to the a/c button.
so confused :(

My problem still persists as well. There is no fan wiring for the thermoswitch, no connector at one side of the aux. fan fuse and no connectors for the spades for relays k1 or k9.
I guess I'll have to do some more investigation including opening up the fusebox and perhaps just adding in some wiring to get power to the fuse and some inputs and outputs to the relay. For all things 24v, check out Markert Motorworks!Originally posted by mbonanniI hate modded emtree, I hate modded cawrz, I hate jdm, I hate swag, I hate stanceyolokids, I hate bags (on cars), I hate stuff that is slowz, I hate tires.

The fan will not come on.
-The system is bled correctly.
-The fan will come on with pins 87 and 30 jumpered.
-I replaced the aftermarket NEW 80/88 e36 ti fan switch with a NEW OEM switch thinking that would fix the problem.
-I have tried multiple known good relays.
-Because I'm retarded and can't read I had originally wired pin 86 to the green/black wire and the fan would come on when the key was in the run position (I think it was only key on, but it could have always on, I don't remember. I realized my mistake then wired it correctly, pin 86 to the brown/black).
-I swapped the K1 and K6 relays.
-The switch is wired correctly, pin 1=green/black, pin 2=black, pin 3=black/brown.
Someone, please, for the love of God help me out. I'm at my wits end. Thanks in advance.

In the first picture, the large plug on the right goes to your stock aux fan wiring, which it looks like you dont have. No problem there, just use the diagram in the OP for reference. green wire is normal speed (use resistor) and blue wire is high speed (connect to fan power on othere side of resistor) brown is ground (or you can use a seperate ground for your fan)
I cant see where the heck your switch wiring is, but it should be around somewhere. small little black/green, blk and blk/brn wires. again, use the OP diagram for reference.
Sorry if I missed it above, but why aren't you just using the OP's original diagram and the stock wiring? It seems the way youre doing it is very overcomplicated. If you can get it to work using the stock system, maybe you can branch out from there and find out what your problem is.Comment

Anyone know of a place to get a kit with a relay that I can wire that sensor and my e fan into? I'm sure there's a relay and wiring kit that would be easier than trying to add in the factory wiring to use relays under the hood.

My car has no wiring in the fuse box for an aux fan. The whole point of what is outlined in this thread is is so that the fan works by itself like it should and cools the engine without having to think about hitting a button to keep it from overheating.
