Well, while the engine was idling, I removed the maf and the idle settled down. Aside from that it looks like the motor is running fine and no leaks are apparent. I still have a problem turning the motor off however.

Sorry for the watermark in the middle of the page.

These are soooo true. If you are not 200% without a seed of doubt, check recheck and check again. Grandpa always said" Cut once, measure twice."

So double check before you fuck up.

Edit: Are you 200% sure you have all your eyelet connections on the right places? I saw an issue like this before on a Z swap we did and the eyelets on the M52 where all wrong. when grounds get power and power gets ground it does weird things. Like lights on cluster like it's on with no key and when you try to start it all gets sorta dim. what motor r u using?

Using an m50tu engine. And perhaps I did switch around a ground wire because once I put my key in the on position for the first time, all the cluster lights turn on and they stay on regardless if the keys are in or not. Problem is, I'm not sure which ground :/

Peel back the black sheathing. And take a pic of your strut tower and battery tray connections for your harness plz.

Took pics, but couldn't find the camera wire to upload them lol. The red wires all ended up to the power distribution box, and the brown wires went to ground (via strut tower). I'll try to get a pic from the phone or something.

My problem was the ecu not being grounded.. Make sure its making good contact to both the ecu and the chassis/wherever-you-mount-it

EDIT: After stalking your previous threads, you're also talking about getting power to the cluster with the key out as well... I had that problem too. At first id just disconnect the battery each time that happened to turn off the lights, but that was becoming an annoying task very fast. I wanted to see what relay was the one giving the power so I started pulling out relays one by one until I saw the lights turn off. I found it to be the K5 relay I believe.

So I wanted to connect my own manual switch to the relay so I can kill it whenever I want (as a temporary fix).... It so happened that I somehow just cut the wire going to the relay and my car was working just fine. Kinda confused me, but it worked so I wasnt thinking much of it. Thats how it is right now, but since it was kinds sketchy to just have the wire cut like that, I connected a switch to the relay wire so I now have the option to "reconnect" it if I ever need to for some reason.

it was the "fuse box" wire that i had going to the starter. and the other end of the "fuse box" was at the power block.

now i have my ecu grounded and the thing will fire. i can get the fuel pump to work if i jump circuit. i checked the fuel pump relay wiring witht a test light an it is dead. i then tested the fuel pump wire at the c101 and still no power. i have tested for spark and nothing.

im just getting a little annoyed and i am out of ideas. anyone help?

Is your crank position good? Ive read during my swap that if the crank position doesnt read properly, then it doesnt send power to the relays or something of the sort..
