Will certainly update with actual dyno charts when I get a chance. Just wanted to share my experiences in the meantime.

@DesertBMW - Move the trolling elsewhere good sir

Go hit the dyno tomorrow. Kingtson NH, Granite state dyno is doing a dyno day for some disease. $60 for 3 pulls.

I've never dealt with a dyno. Do you drive the car on the dyno, or does the operator?

I feel like the owner would be more versed on their car/shifting/etc resulting in better numbers, but I also remember an operator blew Ryan Gangemi's S54 up...

I've yet to see any reputable shop that would allow the owner to do the 'driving' on the dyno for a power pull. And there is no shifting. The operator gets it into 4th gear (usually) and about 2k RPM's, goes full throttle, and pulls to whatever RPM you want them to. That's it. It's not the operators fault when things break on the car.

          Tuning is a different story.

Makes sense, just never seen one in action. IIRC something happened to Ryan's (Gangemi) S54 E30 M3. Something about the operator revving it way too high, for way too long. I can't find the thread now of course.

For what it's worth, Turner's chip made a huge improvement on my S52 over the TRM chip. Didn't need dyno figures to tell the difference. Not sure what the issue was, but I'll give them another go with my next engine.

Don't get me wrong guys, i'm in now way discounting TRM...I think conforti and TRM both do great work. I wish I would have gone to the dyno when I first posted this thread...since then I have had schricks and now im FI so it's impossible to replicate the situation I first posted. I'll have the s52 out of the car and a low comp. m52 sometime within the next year, I still have all my old NA mods so whatever chassis I put the motor in next I will do the dynotesting on.
