since tuesday my car is sitting in my driveway , i worked on it today, i flush the rad , i put fresh coolant i replace the rad cap with a new one. i check oil for the second time everything looks good, i then turn car on it turns one no problem..! i let it idle for 10 min then take it out for a drive on the freeway an after 5-10 min car hits the red mark , i get home let it cool for an 1 hour check coolant an half of it i gone...! WTF where is it gooing.?

what do i check next , my thermostat is new i replace it when i did the swap, my engine is m52 obd1 any ideas???

Did you check your low speed/high speed auxiliary fan fuses in the fuse box?

That explains a lil. I mean I am a lazy typist but ya. SO if its a bad thermostat than pull it and run the car with no t-stat. Also coolant just wont disappear. Is it getting hot enough its coming out of the coolant expansion hose?

before you buy one you can test it by driving that way. But you do need one in the car to have it run right.

I would make sure you bled the system properly before you do anything.

yep, jack up the front of the car, turn heat on all the way, let the coolant circulate for 5 minutes before you cap it and then don't go straight for the highway.

filling up the reservoir is NOT equal to filling up the system, the system holds ALOT more then what the reservoir holds.

Indeed! What Philo instructed me to do was to remove the upper radiator hose from the radiator, then slowly pour coolant into it until it began to dribble out. That way you are filling up the engine. Then, reconnect the hose to the radiator and remove it from the engine. Slowly pour coolant into the hose until it begins to dribble out of the thermostat housing. Now you've filled the radiator. Reattach the hose to the thermostat housing. Finally, fill the reservoir to the correct mark. Now bleed the cooling system.

                          Good luck!

I'd fill radiator then engine just to make less of a mess with the coolant. But using the upper radiator hose to fill both the engine and the block is the best way to go on a dry system.
