-is anyone with a 3.0 or larger getting any traction what-so-ever? I know I'm comparing apples to oranges, but my 328 with software, catback, intake, m50 manifold, ASC delete, fan delete (yada/yada) will never spin its 245s even when provoked (really wouldnt spin 225s either) but my e30 destroys its 205 azenis on every occasion.

Its really annoying at the autocross because im probably losing a second at every start just easing on the throttle, i never go WOT at the start.

You pretty much have to slip the clutch if you want to get a good launch. It's fucking hard on the clutch, yes, but it's really the best way to keep tires on the limit of adhesion without bogging/spinning.

If you just dump the clutch you are either going to:
    1. Bog down and get a shitty start.
    2. Roast the tires through 1st and get a shitty start.

Then you have to be conscious of hard you shift into 2nd, if you're spinning the tires again, all your doing is wasting time.

Not bad Kyle! Looks like the diff swap definitely helped if you were whoopin' on Cary like that. :p

With that trap speed, you may be able to hit 12s if you can get a sub 2 second 60 ft. Nice job either way! :nice:

What rpm are you launching at? Did you sidestep/ slip the clutch to help your launch?

You got those times with the new VANOS in? :???:

Were you running your M-systems with the 235s???
What rpm did you launch at? What are you trapping? What was your 60 ft?

We will see. Obviously I would prefer a bit wider tire but... Not going to fully tub the rear end to make the car completely impractical.

Breaking axles.. is an easy fix, the diff is built and the m3 tranny has taken far more power than 400whp. The suspension is vastly different than a mustangs as is the vehicles weight and weight distribution.

I plan on doing severe rolling of the fenders and I will try to find the best wheel tire combination in order to stuff the widest tires under the E30. I have seen 17's with 255 on the back on an E30. That would be close to ideal for my vehicle. Like I said... I have to figure some stuff out and see were I sit when the fenders are rolled.

I also have a pretty high gear ratio so that will reduce wheel spin in 2nd and 3rd..

Then you would probably have problems breaking axles or other drivetrain components but I am talking out of my ass here. I am basing this on my knowledge of 5.0 Mustangs. Mmmm 5.0/e30. Sacraledge I know but I have both and engine and a body shell in my garage.

That being said, I will be going this summer when I can get my car better prepared. :nice:
