damn abe, you beat me to this thread.
ran a 15.2 at 91mph. i was kinda disappointed too. both abe and i just spun off the line most of the time. a couple of runs i pulled a fast and the furious and missed second gear.
oh well, it was just for shits and giggles. with some proper tires and better launch technique, i know i can pull low 14s. woulda had some video but forgot to load memory card into camera.

A 14.3! What did you trap? Get some drag radials and try again!
With the way you ran against that 335i, it's pretty mind boggling that you weren't in low 13s at least...

It depends alot on the track some tracks might prep the track before the street legal drags but some dont. I know if i go to a summit series race at sac race way the drag the track and spay it with vht threw the 60foot for the high horsepower cars. But then again I dont even think theyd let me run my car in that series.

Most are running lowered cars and stiffer than stock spring rates. Neither of which is helping anything. Stock springs in the rear with some bilstein HDs would be a decent setup on the cheap. Also a proper tire compound and prep, pressure, launching technique all factor in on that intial bite or hook etc...Its been my expereince you want a bit of wheel spin then a nice firm hook and a slap in the back of the head from the headrest letting you know you did a good job at the line. I know E30s are not drag cars but they are fun to drag race anyway....

I believe the mph is calculated from gps, which is less accurate from a specific point than at a constant speed, like i said not a track but an electronic device
