IMO, I'd think a non vanos could be faster in the 1/4. The only time you're out of the power band is when you launch, and e30 m50's have enough traction issues in 1st to not need more power at that point.

Does anyone have a non-vanos dyno plot? I don't think I've ever seen one.
Here is my dyno graph. It's a m50 non vanos, 2851cc, 9.5 CR with ebay m50 turbo bottom mount manifold, crappy down pipe and stock m20 exhaust, this was used just to brake in the engine. The head has a little work done but nothing special.I had to advance the timing due to lower CR.The picture its not that clear, but the car made 187 Hp and 194 Torqe

Yeah i need to practice alot more on hookin that suker up.

Yeah i was wondering the same thing. i would like to put those in and see but if i take off the head im gunna do alot more work to the head like cams, springs, port polish, studs gasket and DR vanos.

but yeah 7psi got me 260whp on a base tune from TRM and then sent them the dyno number and got a chip back and they said they could see 280 or 290 to the wheels easily

    ET 1/4 mile 13.6 @106
    with street tires.

I only did 2 laps down the track and im just learning how to launch the car....

Seems about right, trap speed looks pretty good, but obviously you weren't hooking up the greatest.

7-8psi gets you 290whp? That's nice. I'd love to turbo mine. I wonder what s50 cams would do for you...

Not a 24v but fun to compare anyway. First time out with the car.

    m30b35/g260.6/s3.46/225 45 16 fk452 street tires.

    14.748 @ 97.275
    60ft was 2.130
reaction (not that it matters) 0.220

I'll go out again in a week or so and try again with different tires/suspension setup.

I've been trying to get to the track now that I did m3 cams/software. Previous best was 14.4@94 with my chipped m50. Hoping for 14.2@97 or so now. Hopefully I can get to the track in the next few weeks.

I just rebuilt my M50 with arp studs and 19lbs injectors and am going to get a W.A.R chip and run the Miller 19lbs tune. I'm hoping for mid 14's at least.

Whoops, missed that. Still, it's a good ET for a 94mph trap!

Here are other times from that day:

    60'......2.042.....2.232....2.239....2.285....2.61 8
    330.....5.948.....6.136....6.212....6.278....6.801
    1/8.....9.122.....9.327....9.393....9.537....10.028
    MPH... 77.39.....77.52....77.22....76.36....76.29
    1000...11.825...12.029...12.096..12.265..12.755
    1/4.....14.057...14.266...14.326..14.511..14.995
    MPH....102.95...101.16...102.91..102.19..102.55

On most of them I spun, on the last one I spun like crazy, had a horrible 1/8 time, and still trapped at 102 1/2 mph! Yes, I got slower through the day. The harder I tried to go fast, the slower I went.

I would be a good match against a Boss 429...

    or a 2010 Mustang GT...
