Interest in a TRM e30/M50 turbo kit?

I've gotten a few PMs and posted in a couple of different threads about FI options for swapped cars.

The TRM stage 1 and 2 turbo kits (in the catalog at the link in my sig) do not currently fit the M50 motor installed in the e30 chassis. If there is enough interest, when my car gets turboed, we can develop and mass-produce the parts needed to sell an e30/M50 (S50/S52/M52) kit.

I'm trying to get an idea of how many of you guys would be interested in buying such a kit.

To get an idea of the price/benefit, the e36 kit is $5500 hardware only (so you can use any tuning or standalone you want) and ECU tuning is available. The stage 1 kit, on a stock M50, generally makes a safe 330 wheel HP on 93. More like 375 on race gas or on an S50/S52. e30 kit pricing will be similar.

So if you're interested, post here or PM me so I can get an idea. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them also.

The charge pipes and the intercooler will need to be re-worked extensively. Possibly other parts of the kit may change to be more e30 appropriate.

Sadly, I would guess that the kit will be for facelifted cars only. 09/88+ But this could change if we figure out that intercooler mounting works both ways.

        Start saving... 8-)

            Hellll yes.

Not to argue but it takes 13 psi and a S52 with a .140 hg to make 385rwhp with the TTS2 kit(just a recent example on bfc). Are you sure 330rwhp is possible on a stock compression M50? How much boost?

How much $ for obd1 tuning from Mike?

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.

we make 270 rwhp all day long at 8psi. 330rwhp is at 12 psi on 93 octane and stock compression. This is with the stage 1 turbo on an otherwise stock E36 325is (M50TU).

I would hope that an E30 kit wouldn't be any less efficient.

                  What about stock S50/52 at 8psi? 12psi?

                  Tuning costs?

13psi with whats the rest of the set up? Theres alot more to what a turboed motor will make than just the psi your pumping into it. ANd theres more than compression ratio to what psi you can run on what setup.

Yes, waiting on manifolds is a bitch.

Funny thing is, even after (or maybe because of) riding in that TT stage 2 car, MikeE36 bought two (seriously, two) TRM turbo kits.

I was just showing it was a stock setup with hg.
