I've never drive one with a 3.73, and I haven't really driven the car working properly, I've only driven it with no o2 sensor for like 5 minutes. I'm putting my exhaust on tonight and getting an o2 tomorrow. It should top out at about 130mph.

I am in the middle of doing a swap like this and I'm having a problem with the driveshaft. It does not seem to want to sit straight and is bent out slightly towards the driver's side. Its a 91 318is, M50TU, G240, E36 325i 5 speed driveshaft with e30 center bearing on backwards. It seems that the center bearing is offset to one side and that by flipping it around has caused a bend. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how was it solved or not?

put the csb on the right way. Mine is on the correct way and everything sits there fine

Figures. Whats with everyone saying it should be on backwards? The u-joint is on the other side though. Did you have any clearance issues?

none at all. There is a lot of good info on the internet and unfortunately there is a lot of bad info too. The biggest prob is that 2 swap cars w/ the same parts can turn out completely different, ie like flipping the CSB. Just do as much research and learning as you can and use all of that to guide your swap. Don't use it as a step by step guide.

Thank you for your input. I have been using the net as a primary source of info for my swap and was surprised that this was so blatantly wrong. I turned it around today and it fit perfect.

sorry for the thread bump, but i've got a question:

so it's impossible to use an e36m3 clutch/flywheel in a getrag 240? i just bought a JB Racing aluminum flywheel with a 240mm friction surface that i was really hoping to use in a getrag 240..
