wow, i would be depressed if i knew the actual MPG at all times on my s50. im averaging about 13-20mpg depending on how much city/highway driving i do. some people blame my heavy foot, i say its the s50 is a guzzler.

I drive mostly freeway miles, about 65 miles a day plus some grocery runs. I can go a week on one tank with the my S50. 330+miles on one tank with a hot S50. I've seen 342 on a tank but didn't have the courage to go farther...and the light never came on. My M20 never even came close to that.

              Efficient and fast.

The fuel consumption thing is throwing me. My assumption going into this is that if I stretched the signal about 30% it would be about right so I made it adjustable form 1 to 2x the original signal length so that it would work on baseline M50's all the way to S52's.

I've got it running all the way at 2x right now and it's almost right for the M50. Where I used to indicate about 45mpg I'm now down to about 27. My experience is that the M50 gets about 25.5 in mostly highway commuting.

Like I said I still need to tweak the software and my next revision will increase the dynamic range from like 1x-4x and we'll see how that works.

I still plan to have a few prototypes out for evaluation in May.

Wow! My s50 goes WAY farther than my m20 did. Maybe I'm just a lightfoot?

Steve, if you need another vehicle/engine to test, I can install your prototype and leave my car with you for a few days. Let me know.

Did you happen to take a look at the "coding plug" on the back of the OBC? I would think that you might be able to simply tap into that for adjust the display.

I haven't looked at the coding plug.

Wouldn't that only correct the OBC and leave the dash display wrong, or does the OBC drive the dash MPG display??

                              Update

I had some software issues that I resolved last week. The problem in a nutshell is that when you decelerate the injectors cut out completely and there is no more fuel signal. It was confusing my software and I found a fix that makes it work perfectly.

So I am officially in the "Test" part of the Test and Development phase.

It's running great in an M50 and an S50 and has full adjustability for anything in between. It doesn't care what kind of software, injectors or cams you have. It will work for boosted cars. It is fully adjustable and will finally give you accurate MPG figures.

If the test phase goes well I will commit to ordering circuit boards in the next month and they will be generally available sometime this summer.
