Are you still taking orders for that first batch?

Yep, I have about 11 left and I'll be ordering components for 25 more next week.

I've been playing with mine and currently have it running the input signal directly off the injector. Why? It will work with megasquirt cars!

ooo... or any standalone for that matter. Let me know how that turns out!

The standalone version has been working pretty well. The board was designed to trigger off the DME fuel signal but I have it connected to the ground wire of an injector. Since the injectors have constant +12, the switched ground creates the exact same waveform parameters as the DME fuel signal.

My concern was that injector impedance causes too much noise for the board to accurately read the signal. Hasn't been the case.

Also, the injector signal is not the same as the DME fuel signal. The DME does some kind of processing it. No matter, I can process the raw signal same as the DME, just may need some software adjustments.

Drew325is has already expressed interest for his Megasquirt car and I've sent a board to him for evaluation. You'll be hearing more in a few weeks.

progress on the standalone unit? will this work with peak and hold and saturated injectors? what the largest injector size it can compensate for? will it work on v8's as well?

I sent one to drew325is down under a few weeks ago for evaluation with his standalone system. He promises to install it when he gets time and I'll go from there. I had running straight off my injector Gnd signal before I sent it to him.

I'd need to look at peak and hold and saturated injectors, not sure how they work but I do know that it will NOT work with low impedance injectors that are PWM switched.

Really no limit to how large the injector size is or cylinder count.

I can't duplicate every application here to test them but if you have something you'd like me to develop let me know!

Checking in...I have the module in hand, and a public holiday on Wednesday...I'm looking forward to testing this out with the megasquirt!

Well basically I would have 2 applications

1.s52 with large injectors (~750cc) off standalone... I think I can use either P&H or saturated so just wondering if my choice matters

                2. BMW m60 family motor

If it can do both these applications off of an injector ground then I'll take 2.

Paypal sent for one. Can't wait to get my MPG gauge & OBC MPG back!

I forgot to ask: can I assume that the same signal is used by the OBC to calculate MPG and range?

I'm not sure it would work with P&H judging by the voltage spike discussed here:

The circuit does edge detection on the injector signal pulse to determine the pulse length and then compute the required change; the P&H creates false edges that don't correlate to the actual injection timing. This would more then likely throw the circuit off. It is designed for saturated injectors.

                      What standalone are you running?

AEM U box... so I can pick whatever ones I want.

as long as it can compensate for such large injectors and for v8's i dont think it should be a problem.

Standalone development continues. Drew325is has had his running for a week now but didn't have the correct range of adjustability which required a software re-write. He is getting consistent figures on his OBC but they're off by around 15%.

I'll have the revised chip mailed to him shortly and we should be hearing more in a week or so.

                          It's looking very promising.

                                Hi,

Does the $90 include shipping to the UK ?

If not, how much extra do you need ?

                                Cheers,

                                Ian.
