i have a 1988 e30 325ic, i also have a wrecked 95 m3 that im using the motor out of. the parts i know i need to buy are:
e34 525i oil pan, dipstick tube, dipstick, oil pich up tube.
e34 throttle cable
e36 engine mount arms
e28 535i or m5 engine mounts.
ix booster

since my m3 came with the original 413 grey lable i need to buy a 413 red lable.
i was told i can use my stock booster if i move it over a bit, is this true?
also can i use my 95 m3 driveline and diff? if so what will i benefit? thanks!

I use my stock booster, but if i had to do it over again I'd get the new one that fits correctly. I slotted the holes in the firewall, and moved it over, but then I still had to shave the fins on the intake manifold a little. It worked in the end though.

Aaron my understanding is the master cylinder doesnt HAVE to be changed its just a nice upgrade while you are in there. The booster only has to be changed to make room for the rather large plenum.

i heard you can use the stock booster as long as you move it over to the right just a bit...

It was a mix-up on my part because thats the TOB I needed to use when converting the flywheel to a single mass on my M42.

You can go and pat yourself on the back now buddy.

That part number is from an e21 323i equipped with an M20.

That PN comes back to euro e30s with pre 03/84 production dates as well as several other chassis, a good example of why PNs should be used when specifying a particular part. ;)

I'll grab part numbers for ya later tonight as well as pics for comparison. I had both of them sitting side by side when I did my 323i flywheel conversion on my m42 and they are different.

The 323i tob was aluminum while the 325i tob has some plastic here and there.

hate to call ya out on it but they're different. i can't for the life of me find the pic of the two sitting next to each other but the 323i TOB is taller than the 325i one.

i think i might have both at my friends place and could snap a pic for comparison's sake.

Odd, the part numbers do not support your conclusion sir. ;)

its also been covered 50 times a "EURO" 323i TO bearing, is the same as a 325i

I'm piecing all this together right now as well.......

Yes. I used a 325i flywheel, clutch kit, pilot bearing, throwout bearing, and Getrag 260.

Having a bit of a issue right now, I am running a 240 trans, early single mass m20 flywheel, m20 clutch and PP, and 240 pilot bearing...and a 325i TO bearing...

it feels like my TO bearing is not reaching PP


I did go from a Dual Mass to a single mass btw
