I think its less a matter of how fucking cheap we are. It more a matter of what we feel necessary to buy. Why buy a $30 tool to use it once when the $100 floor jack on the trans works fine? We just upgraded the air compressor in my garage to a 80 gallon 6.5 hp 175psi unit. Its not necessarily cheap. And we still have no load leveler. Ive personally put in / helped up in two motors with no leveler and it was absolutely no issue either time.

Stupid people get spoiled with tools they dont need cause others say its the 'right' way to do it. Im pretty sure my m50 is in my car and nothing is broken or fucked up from me not using a pos $30 load leveler.

Another thing. idk how comfortable i am with my motor chillin on a sub $20 anything (in your case).

Thanks. See you think were all cheap but now we all think you an ass hole. ;)

LOL. A $15 load leveler is useless. I have one. It bent at the shackle when I was dropping in my engine/trans combo. So, I upgraded to a $30 load leveler. Much better.

Hahaha awesome!! So for me $30 to use it once isnt worth it. Maybe $15 but like you said....

I bought one for about 25 bucks that I use on a frequent basis. Also its not even 30 bucks dude i mean are you that hard up for cash?lol I have a 2000 dollar ingersol rand compressor big deal ?Its just funny to see how the majority of you guys are so cheap.Your sitting there cluckin like a baby about 30 bucks. It just cracks me up.THeres no such thing as spoiling yourself with tools. You could never have enough tools. It just makes jobs easier why use a jack and possibly a second person when I can use a leveler and do it by myself.Anyways

I put my motor in by my self. Im just saying its kinda pointless for me to buy a tool even if its $30 to only use it once. I dont have a problem spending $2k+ on a compressor or a tig machine :) Cause i know ill use it.

And im not hard up for cash. Have you seen my car?

I love hand tools - use them whenever I can, and hate air tools. Half the fun of working on these cars is turning wrenches, not pulling a trigger. If I wanted to do that, I'd be a hunter. Shit, I have my 2.7i stroker done and running and I'm contemplating ripping it out and doing a 24v just because I love working on my car.

My MINI frustrates me sometimes because there's nothing to be done on it - with my e30 there's always something I can do to it, and it keeps the hobby alive.

PS - I almost always wear sandals when working on my car - yes, even when swapping engines. If you're not smart enough to get your toes out of the way in time, you deserve to lose them :)

PS - Good luck! Let us know how the swap turns out!

Instead of selling yours, you can come down for a weekend and help build mine! then you can keep your e30 and have the satisfaction of a part of another sweet build ;)

i just gotta find me a motor...

Hurray for sandals and building motors. Yeah, I've got a second project sitting at home, a c10 on bags w/ built motor just to be able to build it up. Always fun having more projects. And hell yes I work in sandals welding and stuff, hurts worse to get a piece of hot metal down the shoe than bounce off the side.

                      Any more updates?
