Lol, I believe you. PM or email me some pictures of your swap, if it's obd1, I wouldn't mind some good clear pictures of various connections if you got any. Good luck with your swap!

Jean, I've enjoyed reading your thread thus far and have made use of a few of your pics as I have been putting the motor back together. I have my obd1 m52 bolted in the car now and am in the process of hooking everything up.

I will try to get some pics up of everything soon.

          Good luck with the swap.

Good luck and I am sure it will fire up on first try :)

I'm currently in the process of hooking up all the cooling system lines and figuring out the wiring. I am trying to figure out the coolant temp sensor though. The shop I purchased the motor from converted the motor to obd1 already and they claim to have spliced the temp sensor to work with the e30 cluster.

I am uncertain how this is possible as everyone else seems to say this will not work for e30 swaps.

Don't worry, once I get all the gaskets/hoses/brackets etc it will get up there in price as usual... This engine looks 10x cleaner than the m50 I had last week, no leaks and coolant is CLEAN! Pan and compressor coming off this week to start with. Ran a carfax on this one as well, just barely 100k on it.

Alternator, afm, starter should arrive this week. Got a lead on an M50 manifold/tb and fuel rail and injectors. Still need to find the e34 oil pan pick-up, as the oil pan I got is bare :(

                Thanks Bruce!

So I found a great quote of yours....

Are you going to upgrade rear brakes or just doing the fronts ?

                Ironic, no?

                  Farbin , aka 007 lol.

Engine wise still a shit load of work to do, and don't even get me started on the car.

Wow, just found the thread. Nice work as always Jean!

I'm an avid picture guys as well. My camera smokes every time I use the flash from burning off engine oil! hehe

You have inspired me to start posting some of my projects.

Thanks man! I saved some of the pictures locally, I hope e36 bentley will be a good guide for me as well.

Haven't done anything with the engine this weekend as I was out autocrossing sat/sunday. I did get a vanos solenoid and e30/e34 harness plugs today to make an adapter, and hopefully 413ecu and e34 engine harness will arrive this week.

Bentley doesn't explain the engine harness connectors (wire colors or what end goes to what) ?

Yes it does, you have to read the diagram very closely. That's how I did it the first few times, now I can do it from memory.
