94 e34 m50 in 85 325e... no spark

    Do we need to have a weekend troubleshooting session? I don't have anything going on but watching football this weekend.

      You didnt remove the engine lifting point (bolted onto vanos unit/thermostat area) at any time when installing the engine did you? There is a grounded resistor circuit in the coil/fuel injector harness that needs to go on one of the bolts in that lifting point. Do you have fuel in the chambers after removing a spark plug, did you pull a coil, push a plug in and ground it to check be absolutely sure you dont have spark?

      Also are you absolutely sure the few wires that follow your diagnostic port are correctly grounded and powered up? Have your starter lead and unloader relay plugged in the correct locations? Do you have any connectors you feel may not be plugged in correctly to the harness or was the harness left connected to the engine? Just throwing out some of my thoughts, good luck.

        Are you sure it's supposed to be at ~530 ohms ? I am looking at the e36 bentley and it shows 1280 +/- 10% for the CPS . I also looked in the e34 manual and it also shows 1280.

          chiltons say 540 ohms on the cps mine ran with 540? maybe 530 is to low? try swapig it out.

            You checked yours and it's measuring 540?

                that's weird. so both e34 and e36 bentley manuals are wrong? hmmm.

                I just got a set of sensors in the mail today along with s50 manifold, so I'll measure them myself tomorrow on my lunch and post the results.
