S5x,M5X To Getrag 260 shift arms

As the title states, Ive had a modified shifter carrier and selector rod for several thousand miles in my cabrio.
I modified them as precisely as i could and apparently i did something right. The shifter works perfect and even with a SSK. I wanted to wait a while before duplicating this for a sort of R&D period. Yes, the shifter is centered. That was the point of this mod. I can sell a "Kit" with the modified trans mount too.

So now im ready to offer my services to you guys, What should i charge and will there be any demand for these? I will be welding aluminum and steel.

I will need cores, Maybe Joe funk could hook us up.

Definitely interested. I'm looking to do a 24v swap in the spring and want to use the Getrag 260.

Definitly interested. I don't have alot of time to fab stuff up with my work schedule so something like this would be perfect. I can send you my core if you would like.

        let me know.

        Thanks,

        Nick

Thanks, i think the satin is going to look good. Especially slammed on DSIIs.

Do you guys think 100ish plus around 60 for the Trans brace is fair?

So say $150 including shipping for the whole package? Provided you send cores?
Or 75 for just the shifter Modification. Ill put up a For sale thread when i get some feedback i suppose.

I did mine during the conversion but it took some time that I was short on, especially since I had to make some adjustments for trial and error; and take everything apart again when it rubbed the driveshaft slightly in 5th gear. Z3 shifters make this a little more critical.

I would recommend it because it would save a bunch of time and it's just one less thing to hassle with.

Don't forget your OBC conversion, too!

im still trying to decide whether its worth crawling under my cabrio removing the shifter parts and then making a jig.
                    Let me know guys.

I'm confused, I'm using the Getrag 260 with my M50 swap and all I did was bend/twist the selector rod a few degrees then bend the new shifter to match the stock on and my shifter is centered just fine.

i would suppose thats obviously possible. It gave me piece of mind to have mine welded, to avoid any problems(if any)

I gotcha, I couldn't tell before since I am posting through my BlackBerry the pics are too small.

I also ended up using the sheet metal shift carrier instead of the aluminum one.

thats probably the difference. Because with the aluminum, i didnt see any way to do it, without making it look awful and functioning about the same.
Because Cast aluminum tends to break if you twist it.
