The AC bracket won't come off. I got the top bolt off, but the bottom won't come off. It's loose, I need to cut the bolt I think.

Others may disagree, but I'd advise the cut/solder method for the first time. That way you can verify all of your wiring is correct. Then you can go back in and crimp the male pins on for a factory finish.

I'm done the wiring, I cut, soldered and heat shrunk the connections. Pretty clean.

Little update, I installed my iX booster and MC. I need to find a way to remote mount the resivoir. I have an idea for a pretty neat bracket, I just need fittings.

if u need the fittings to fit into the M/C then try getting a hold of the elbow which comes out of most boosters, where the vacuum hose fits, the black elbow fits snug into the M/C and is also very neat

I dont understand why people do this.
You know if you grind the little tabs off the back of the oil pan you dont have to surface the back of the flywheel.

In terms of shaving this, do I just take a 1/8th off like you do in the m42 swap?

              Like there ^^?

u are right, i just surfaced mine coz i was gonna have it lightened anyway....

i suppose if its not grinded away correctly then the sump being alloy would suffer cracks of some sort.....

413 ECU is for a VANOS M50. 402 403 and 405 supposedly work. I've used 402 and 405 on my engine and picked up a 403 at the junk yard recently. I think one of them keeps the r3vs up when shifting, and the others don't. Might be the 402 one, but correct me if I am wrong.

You need to connect the brown and black wire only if you keep the auto harness in.

I put in my iX brake booster and MC, you need to adjust the rod about 3/8" out for the pedal height to be correct. You also need to bent the brake lines back and around a bit so they line up because the iX booster sits further into the engine bay then the stock one.

I'm going to mount my MC resivoir on the shock tower, where the P/S resivoir was mounted, then I need to shift the P/S resivoir forward an inch because it hits the MC.

Well heres how I remote mounted the resivoir. This is required because the intake elbow hits. It's a piece of 1/16th aluminum attached to the shocktower where the throttle cable bracket connects. I just bent it accordingly and drilled holes for the bolt and 2 nipples.

I took 1/4" tubing, heated it up and pushed it over, it made a tight seal, then I put some zip ties for re assurance.

I still need to mount the P/S resivoir. Nothing a piece of 1/8" aluminum and 2 holes can't fix.

                      Heres how it sits

I got some parts in today, oil pan, motor mount (yes 1.. they fucked up), outer tie rod end, intake manifold gaskets.

                      I'm waiting on:

                      Oil pan gasket
                      Rear main seal
                      323i TOB
                      Pressure plate
                      spark plugs
                      oil filter
                      valve cover gasket set

My friend picked up a M20 starter for me and another has a E36 5spd drive shaft for me.

And a couple other things, once that's done it'll be all gravy.

to get the crankwheel off use a 13mm socket and unbolt the outer bolts. then wiggle the wheel off with like a screw driver and work it back and forth till shes off.

I see you're using my mounting technique. =P (for the reservoir). Looks good.

I'm not going to. If you look how the fluid goes in to the MC, it's better to mount it long.

Well, I ordered my Pressure plate and engine mounts today. My buddy who works at BMW is ordering my suction tube and TOB, they should be here this week, then that means the engine goes in this week.

And if you remember the A/C bracket wouldn't come off. Well fuck that, aluminum is brittle and Mr. hammer came into play.
