(i presume one is for the trans?) i have both the e36 chassis harness as well as the 36 engine side. does anyone know how to wire the secound plug? thanks in advance guys.

He's talking about the EGS plug, which looks exactly like the X20 but has a white ring. If you had an auto E30 then it should have something to wire it too. If not, then you have a 5 spd, then you can just use that 5spd with the M50.1985 325e 2.8 Turbo VEMSComment

it is an auto e30 (which makes me so sad) to be honest i only saw one c101 plug so its a possibility i missed it. i am kinda dumb sometimes.
does anybody know what the wiring from the EGS PLUG FROM THE 36 TO THE 30? (stupid caps lock)
I havent seen any threads about this so thats why i ask.Live Fast. Drive Faster.

Given the little bit of info out there on swapping an auto trans from an E36 into an E30, I'd say hit the junkyard hard and pull a transmission and driveshaft. Piece together a good clutch/flywheel and such. You wont have to deal with the wiring hassle and you'll have a proper transmission. I've picked up complete trans swaps from the junkyard for $50 before.
Sorry that I have nothing to give here as far as updating from the E30 trans to the E36.Comment

well i sapose its better then starting a new thread hahaha. check the etm that guy mentioned ^^^^^^^i remember having a thread about this but i didn't get the answer i was looking for.
Basically my check engine light doesn't come on, not even in the start position, the thing is i don't know if it ever used to come on, i swapped motors as soon as i got the car. I'm thinking maybe my wiring adapter doesn't include check engine light? it's the AKG one. Basically could my check engine light thing be dead in the cluster or is that not likely to be it? what should i check for? thanks.

Auto E30s don't have any transmission electronics (except for the "sport" package ones which are rare), there is nothing body-side to hook that up to. you'd need everything from the E36.Comment
