    I can delete EWS 3.3 and other components that are not needed for swap. And M54 will work fine in your E30

    Well now this has me concerned about being able to use the stock engine controller from the M54 if the EWS and other unused features can't be removed by a reflash from an established tuner.

    Wouldn't you have to get the stock M54 ECU reprogrammed just like the S54 ECU to disable things like DSC and CAN-bus besides just dealing with EWS before using it in a E30?

    $600... wow, if it's not an overheated motor that's a good deal even without the transmission!

    Plenty of M54's were overheated because their related cooling systems (radiator, expansion tanks) in the chassis sucked. Beware!
