    Engine options

    Just getting started researching for a s54 swap. Started looking at available engines and am wondering if it matters if a motor came from a car with smg trannsmission? Thanks for any help

      ^No, however the ECU will need to be programmed to know you have a manual. Unless of course you plan on using the SMG.

          Doesn't matter. DME has to be flashed either way - it's only 2 bytes to change from SMG to a manual.

                  Also, if you're not up to speed on the S54, get acquainted with its weaknesses and needed updates....namely rod bearings and vanos/cam.
