That having been said, Jason's car would cream mine even if I have a few more horsies, his car has better weight balance, and best of all WAY LESS weight.

I'm running AC, full stock E36 interior etc....I'd have to guess his car is near to 2200 lb, mine closer to 3200.

No comparison for the actual cars....And any of you dropping same motor into an E30 will also realize the benefits of less weight.

    Alex.
Oh sounds good. I'm sure the car still pulls hard for an NA e36!

Quiet that exhaust down, you need to be able to hear that airbox scream!!! :hitler:

Yeah, a gutted E36 with a lot of tire can be very fast. Add an S54 and it is even faster.

Stock e36s are pretty fast. I'd put my stock 328is track car up against most of the swapped cars on here even though it's 3000 lbs.

I'd agree with you. Most of the swapped cars on here don't have very well sorted suspension set-ups. Without dialing it in probably the added weight of the motor over the nose, and the added torque can really turn into a handling disaster. :p

Then again my swap car was pretty dialed in, and it handled on rails. :nice:

if it handles like its "on rails"..... you're not driving it fast enough. :)

son, you got to dial in a little more "right foot!" handles on rails...... with an s54...... sheeesh.

I've figured out how to do it, just have not released any kit to do so. My method requires a software update plus either a hardware mod inside the ECU, or a a small circuit outside the ECU.

If you had even a slight idea how good the Siemens MSS54 ECU is, you would never suggest that.

Mike from StanceFactory up here in Toronto had his S54 E36 running for a while, I think last year it was. I heard it was before Burroughs, he was down at H20. He's running all factory wiring and DME's everything works, even sport mode.

                          Nice project!

Bear me in mind if you need a way to get the engine running oem style.

                          Cheers

I worked on the software for an S54 into E36 swap in 2005, who can beat that one?
