    N52 swap, MSV70, 1987 325i, Diagnostic questions

Hitting some minor road blocks on my swap.

What diagnostic and coding software are you guys using? I want to have something dependable that I can do real time monitoring and some coding with. I also intend to tune this, and am open to recommendations for that as well. I've seen people use Nando and 22RPD and would appreciate firsthand experiences with either.

I have my N52 powered up, can pull the vin off of a foxwell scanner, but I'm unable to get protool to connect. I'm assuming this usually kick-ass app is erroring out because it wants to reach all the body modules, and I have none.

What I do have is a redline motorsports adapter harness, and a matching 330i MSV70 DME, CAS, key, and key reader

Thanks in advance, and thanks to everyone who has trailblazed this and made my only real hiccup on this swap some diagnostic connections

Welcome to the fun! Nando isn't an option for tuning right now. I know 3 of us are using 22RPD, they've been super responsive for me and quick to turn around tunes when I need a change.

INPA is going to be your best bet for diagnostics, it's tough to get setup and running but the best option. I've used protool, it is looking for all the modules and will only connect sometimes.

22RPD can delete CAS/EWS and you won't need all that with MSV70.

hoveringuy would be the one to talk about for logging stuff.

Striker01 thank you, I'll work on getting INPA figured out and start talking to 22rpd. Reassuring to hear protool is inconsistent for you too

Does anyone know if there are any working links for ISTA/D/P downloads or INPA? The last time I checked on one of the threads, the link was either full of viruses or no longer available to download and now I can't find a legitimate link for either one. Something to do with the forums taking posts down for "corporate" reasons but now there arent too many places to look
