Is the trunk carpet in an iX, iX specific?
I realize the shock mounts are probably in a different location versus a rwd E30...

i think the only differences are the front struts, suspension components, awd components and transfer case/transmission/oilpan etc. i envisioned the rear of the car from the driveshaft back to be the same. i think the rear swaybar is bigger iirc

all of my ix's came with a piece of carpet under the carpet instead of that 1/2" of tar that would otherwise be under the mat in a coupe. so i think the top mat is the same but the under mat is ix specific.sigpic

yeah, the RWD cars came with 195s on a 14x6.5, I don't think a 205 on a 15x7 would have fit in the spare tire well otherwise.
and yes, my ix doesn't have trunk tar. however, my '88 did (and a lot of it!). they also came with a heavy as @#$^ spare tire with a 14" steel wheel..Comment

Yepp, the carpet isn't iX specific. I don't know why I didn't think to check realOEM... Must have just been user error that caused it not to fit properly...

my 88ix has trunk tar, well it did but not after i got my air chisel :) and the rear disk brakes are different but the fronts are the same as a rwd. I know the rear bushings are different as well and i can't remember if it was the rear sub frame or the trailing arm but one of them is IX specif.
the trunk carpet should be the same though.Comment

yeah, my '91 has that mat thing. the earlier ix's just had a big old 1/2" thick slab of tar.
