Here's a link to buy Molykote BR-2 Plus multi purpose grease. I've read that this will work just fine, and it's used on airplane output shafts...and I'd say if it's good for a single engine airplane, it's good for your bimmer. And honestly...I think some Mobil 1 synthetic grease would work, too. We put it on transmission output shafts for the same purpose, to prevent corrosion on the splines and to lubricate. I would use the Mobil 1 syntho on my drive shaft splines and half shafts, too. Just my opinion.Leave a comment:

it's not really neccesary. if you wanted, you could pop off the axle nuts, push the shafts part way in, and stick some anti-seize in there.
they won't get destroyed like the front shaft will without lube, but there's a chance they could get stuck together with rust.Leave a comment:
