the grease zerk thing has been done on the extended shafts ,i remember reading about it on the IX yahoo group when i first started looking into getting an IX ,the fellow said it worked well and didnt cause any imbalance. just hollowed out and cross drilled/tapped for zirk fitting ,and i think he took the zirk out and just left a plug in the hole when not greasing it.

ok.
im getting the correct steel on next week, ill be adding the crease fitting into it. steel that im using is IMACRO M, its tempering steel, new mixture that has same strength than T4140, but its easier to machine and weld, thanks to lower Carb %, but it has 4 times that much Chrome than T4140 which makes it stiff...
T4140:
0.43 % C, 0.30 % Si, 0.70 % Mn, 0.035 % S, 1.10 % Cr, 0.20 % Mo
IMACRO M:
0.06% C, 0.30 % Si, 1.00 % Mn, 0.035 % S, 4.00 % Cr
i ordered some extra so i can make it for you too :) ill be posting picture when its ready..

Probably cheapest to send everything in one shipment, but since I'm not in the U.S., I'd pay a little extra to get mine shipped direct.Originally posted by priapismMy girl don't know shit, but she bakes a mean cupcake.Originally posted by shamesonUsually it's best not to know how much money you have into your e30

sorry for this taking so long... i just had 2 weeks vacation of the school...
i got only wednesdays and thursdays time to make these things and i got only 4 hours for each... after all.. its only my school... not my job...
but however, yesterday i did 14 shafts to half way... need to drill lubrication channel and then make the splines... my school mate will do the splines for me. im now wondering do i need to give heat threatment to splines or not..
