So the transfercase chain was only discontinued this July. Damn. Anyway - I think BMW probably has just a few left, so they jacked up the price. at $1k you're better off buying a reman T-case - which I also expect they aren't going to manufacture more of in the future.

There's another manufacturer that makes a similar chain. They don't have one in 1.75" width - but I'm going to ask and see if they can make one.

A few places still list the chain but most are out of stock or you have to ask. Think I could find 9 other people who want a brand new chain? lol

I know the E34 TC is no longer being remanufactured but they have some reman units on the shelf, so i wouldent be surprised if the same goes for the E30 TC.

yeah they aren't NLA yet but who knows if they are still making more.

a couple years ago the price was only $1500. I really wish I'd bought one back then..

er, so BMW dropped the price back to earth - $300 ish? WTF?

the dealer sites don't show the change yet but hopefully soon. if you want to buy a new chain I'd do it now..
