Hey y'all, unfortunately I sold my iX, so I don't have a set of flaps anymore, but fortunately, I've moved abroad and have a contact who has told me for 100% sure they can mold and reproduce the flaps, but they cannot quote me a per unit cost until they have them in hand to determine the size and detail of the needed mold block. I would be willing to pay shipping both ways as well as a deposit for the cost of the flap if anyone would be willing to part with a set for a couple of months.

Hey y'all, I realize that was kind of a sketchy first post. I used to post back around 2010 as zedfez, I had an '84 e and an '88iX, both of which I've long since sold, but I still lurk on the forum from time to time. I lost my login for my old account, but just moved to Taiwan, working as the lead mechanic in a German resto shop over here. I found out there's an injection molding company in Taipei that has done some work for our shop before making NLA parts but they won't quote me a cost until I can get an actual sample in their hands. I'm willing to front the money to borrow or buy a set of mudflaps just to be able to put them back into limited production. I do have a bit of an ulterior motive in that I'm working on a Touring for a customer here that they would be the perfect finishing touch on.

@Jim1inWisonsin - just ADD YOURSELF to the list bruh. you don't need someone else to update it. cut and paste is a beautiful thing :-)
@BrokeFastGarage - I have no doubt that you can find VERY credible injection molding experts in Taiwan that also know how to deal with rubbery / elastomeric materials that are needed here. Just check the thread though and you can see how many people have posted about building a 3D model and getting a mold made. Talk Talk Talk Talk Talk. No action.
So don't be surprised if folks aren't holding their breath. There's definitely demand for these parts, but it's never going to make anyone rich. Could you make enough profit to buy a couple of E30s and have funds left over to restore them? I think that's clearly yes.I BUY/SELL REFURBISHED CM5907s & CM5908s

Bradnic, you are totally right. That's part of why I wanted to mention my history, I'm not trying to get rich doing this, I have a day job that I'm plenty happy with with. But I do see an opportunity to make a little money and give something back to the e30 community, this forum is single handedly responsible for me having a running car between the ages of 16 and 20. That's why I offered to outright buy a set too. I've seen dozens of threads over the years where people say "just send me some and I'll make more" that just fall through. I'd rather make the commitment myself to the project before asking for free parts from anyone else.

Hey guys sorry I have been working alot trying to bring the costs of these down, since they are such large custom molded parts. Long story short without spending tons on tooling, the piece price is going to be kinda high. I want to test fit and finalize the best way to recreate the brackets before I take the plunge for the tools. I know people signed up without knowing how much it may cost, but I think it will work out to be $400 shipped for the two front flaps and what I can come up with for the brackets. That would assume a group buy of 20 (Already have 15ish).
Are people still interested at that price? The Lineup in order of appearance:

I think you will have to find more committed buyers to spread out the costs. Some will pay $400, but the problem you'll have is that's about what an original set goes for, so paying that much for a replica will be hard to swallow. You will likely have to get pre-payments or some sort of deposit so you don't take it on the chin.
I understand that also includes brackets that will be new, but it will be a tough sell.
