No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

i do think the one for 1k would be a good deal if you had a parts car or two. body looks good other than some minor damage on the front right corner.Last edited by flyboyx; 06-13-2015, 06:33 AM.sigpic

Bmw 325 Ix value in NY?
Here's a few pictures because while I was attempting to buy one for 3 months they were all over the place- and I mean some with rebuilds pushing 400k and none with less than 170,000. The cheapest being this red parts car which I tried to get for some of the suspension upgrades and lower milage parts. This car is an exception to the above 170,000 miles because he hit a deer at 55,000 miles and wrecked the front but claimed lots of good stuff and he sold it for more than he was asking when I finally got ahold of him.Last edited by ModernclassicxF; 08-16-2015, 04:24 PM.

That sold for more but it was a special car. :( that kind of money would be going to strengthening and re fabricating the front diff and turboing the origional trusty inline 6. IX fans should give it a check out though it was a nice car.Last edited by ModernclassicxF; 12-04-2015, 12:48 PM.

Made my own 325ix purchase recently, and thought I would share my experience with pricing.
I searched for 325ix sedans only (not coupes). And the mileage was in the 120k - 180K range. I was open to auto or manual.
Also, I'm not a kid looking for cheap thrill. This is to be a mostly weekend and get-out-of-town car.
Wrecked / Salvage
- 1000 - 2500
- really depends on condition
Rough
- 2500 - 3500
- most of these were running condition
- exterior was usually in need of work
- interior would be worn but not clean
- mechanically a lot to be done
Average Daily Driver
- 4000 - 7000
- exterior had some obvious rust
- interior were acceptable but still showing age
- usually had some sort of major known mechanical issue(s)
Clean Daily Driver
- 6000 - 9000
- minimal rust
- clean interior
- minor known mechanical issues
Restored or Reconditioned
- 8000 - 12000
- no rust
- super clean interior
- everything mechanically working order
- check out eebmw.com for their restored specimen
- or by Dan in Utah for his FS post here
Delusional Sellers / Something Truly Special
- 15,000 and up
I will say that a lot of sellers who have these cars as daily drivers are delusional about their pricing. There's on seller in NJ who listed at 11K, and that car was clearly way overpriced. I'd be shocked if someone bought that one at asking price.
I test drove two here in the NYC area. Both almost identical in specs and mileage.
I ended up buying the car on the low end of my budget but it had been driven by an enthusiast but will need respray in coming year or two, versus buying the car on the high end of my budget that though cosmetically better, the motor just didn't drive quite right.
That being said. I just put another 3.5K into the car (literally the day after I bought it), spilt between repair, maintenance and upgrades. So, definitely happy with the cheaper option. Because I still came out ahead in terms of my budget.

What he said^^
absolutely agree with what the person said above. Was hard core looking everywhere for ix's, through many states even. What he said is very true, some in the delusional rage (blown t cases and body work needed to minor to moderate degree) saw for ten listed. Not sure that would ever happen unless it was a low mile two door five speed. Even the four doors really are sharp cars but needs to have a stick and that is definitely the hardest thing to find. They are usually driven into the ground- not as if beaten up but they were clearly enjoyed with 300*** or more on the clock. Highest mileage I saw was 400k and still 4,500 with clean interior and body needing rust repair. Why don't they make cars like this anymore? At least the the engines and mechanical components seem far superior to today's standards. P.s. That under writing about differences between the location of pricks was really funny. Although I remember growing up I thought it to be true, I know some pretty laid back cool people who drive bmws now, but boy it was quite the stereo type.
