    Tire size question - 205 /65 R15

1990 325ix has the 15" Moda by BBS Rims - currently has 205/55 R15 tires..

I found a great deal on Snow tires - however they are 205 /65 R15..

I ran the calc and the size is 6.76% diameter variance (Anything more than 3% is not recommended)- i.e its a little taller sidewall height..

But realistically a little taller tire should not be a problem - I have no lowering on this car.. Anyone have a thought on this? Nando?

It would only be run in the winter..

    What offset?

Thats less than 1" diameter difference, i think it should work but there could be rubbing at full lock.

I'd prefer 195/60 than something so oversized, but a deal is a deal..

I ran 195/70/14 on basketweaves in the winter, and it didn't cause any issues. Looks pretty great considering I was going from bald puny 185/60/14's left from the PO. Only had issues with them when I ran them on my iS because it was semi-low

it shouldn't be an issue, especially at stock IX ride height.

Sorry to bring this thread back..

          What about 185/55 R15?

Using this Calculator it should be ok..

they'll work just 3.6% smaller and much narrower which is always better for snow tires (might need narrower rims? could be pushing it a bit on stock rim width for mounting) . speedo will probaby be right on with these on too

              Last One.

I have an option for the Yokohama EnVigors also with a rebate.

The size is 195/60 R15 - My ET is 35

I wonder if this will fit? - (A litte bigger) 1.4% - I think it is a better tire..

                  Thank you sir!

I just placed my order for the Yokohama Avid ENVigor tires from Discount Tire direct - in 190/65 size..

I have the same tires on my wife's E46 and they are quiet and are wearing well.. so I figured they should work on the IX..

Now I need to locate some steelies that will work for my winter tires as winter is approaching!!
